Cathy Henderson, Librarian II Children's Services
My name is Cathy Henderson and I have been the Head of Children's Services for 9 years now. I work with a great group of ladies that bring some of the most creative programs to the children of Greece. I enjoy working the reference desk and helping you find just the right book. I order all the books and dvd's for the Children's Department so if there is something you would like to see just make a suggestion. I will do my best to add it to the collection. My favorite books are constantly changing. I love mysteries and adventure stories. My favorite picture books include; Bark George by Feiffer, The Monster Who Ate my Peas by Schnitzlein, Sophie's Squash by Miller and Carnivores by Reynolds.
Jen Preisser, Librarian I Children's Services
My name is Jen
Preisser otherwise known as Miss Jen. I
have been a children's librarian at the Greece Library for 7 years. I enjoy working with children of all ages, reading
lots of Children’s books… especially picture books, programming, and helping
parents in our children's room. I teach
Baby Story time, preschool story time, and Lego Club along with various other
programs. Some of my favorite times here
are in helping kids find the perfect book, seeing their eyes light up when they
are participating in preschool story time and babies laughing, and talking
during baby story time (I even get hugs from some of them). I enjoy being
creative and trying new things in my programs. My favorite picture books are Penguin and
Pinecone by Yoon, anything by Mo Willems, The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn, Stellaluna
by Janell Cannon and many more!! My
favorite books for story time are interactive books that allow kids to become
part of the story!
Laura Sidoti, Library Assistant Children's Services
My name is Miss Laura and I have worked at the Greece Public Library for 8 years in the Children's Department. I have coordinated the Summer Reading Program for the past 7 years- I love to get the kids excited about reading! I plan and present the story time called "Stories and More" with Miss Cheryl on Tuesday mornings at 9:45. I also plan other children's programs throughout the year and during the summer. I love to work at the library, it is the best job in the world! It's a wonderful feeling being able to help children find just the right book. Some of my favorite books are: Because of Mr. Terupt by Rob Buyea, Wonder by R.J. Palacio, The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall and The Monster who ate my peas by Danny Schnitzlein. Please be sure to stop in and say hello to me when you visit the library.
