September is Library Card Sign Up Month

September is Library Card Sign-up Month! The American Library Association and libraries across the country love to remind people this month how important libraries truly are! We like to do this year-round, but September is a special month for this.

Children ages 5 and up can obtain their own library card. A parent or legal guardian needs to come into the library with the child and identification (current NYS driver's license is preferred.) Stop at any information desk or the circulation desk to get signed up.Children getting their first library card get a special gift.

We encourage you to utilize your library card as much as possible, and if you don't have one yet, we'd love for you to sign up. We have so many wonderful things to offer including: books, movies, music, magazines, audiobooks, ebooks, computer access, wifi, printing, faxing, educational programs, entertainment programs (for all ages), databases, online journals, a quiet place to study, read, or browse online... the possibilities here are endless.

Below are two of our staff members encouraging YOU to sign up for a library card in their "Got Library Card?" shirts!
